A couple in Ha Tinh Province are in need of help to treat their daughter who are suffering from brain atrophy and acute pneumonia.

Thai Van Tu and Nguyen Thi Thu are both manual workers. After getting married, Tu had an accident and suffered from a brain injury. "Most of the money had been already spent when he was in coma for months," Thu said.
He recovered consciousness, but suffers from weaker health and sporadic headaches. Their oldest daughter is 12 years old, the second child is 10 years old and the youngest is two.
However, all of their children have illnesses. The oldest daughter has rickets, the second son suffers from malnutrition and the youngest, Thai Thi My, is diagnosed with brain atrophy and acute pneumonia since birth. My often suffers from severe pain but because of poverty, her parents can only buy her cheap painkillers.
Thu's family doesn't have enough money for proper meals
"She can no longer cry. We use too many painkillers and know they are becoming ineffective. I don't know what to do now," Thu said. "We don't even have enough money for proper daily meals, let alone treatment for her."
Thu has to stay home to take care of the children so the family's income depends solely on her husband. Thu's husband also collects scrap, sells chickens and does other jobs to earn money.
The daily spending on medicines for the three children is VND100,000 (USD4.54). In addition, My needs to go for check-ups in Hanoi three times a year and it costs them up to VND10m per trip. The couple borrowed over VND50m from the bank and the debt is growing.
