A man in the northern province of Hung Yen is calling for financial support to help cover treatment for both his wife and son who are suffering from a serious disease.
Both the wife and son of Trang Minh Sam are now staying at the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion for the treatment of thrombocytopathy which can lead to a high risk of cerebral haemorrhage.

Sam said that he had sold out all valuable things in his house to pay the treatment fees for his wife and son. Now, the family owes large debts and he does not know when he will be in a position to repay them. His family only depends on the farming, but he has stopped this work for months to come to the hospital for taking of the wife and son.
Sometimes, he even tries to starve himself to give the food to his wife and son when he has enough money just to buy a portion of food.
Doctor Duong Thi Hung, who directly gives the treatment to the mother and her son, said that their family is very poor and are struggling to cover the hospital fees, particularly as they will have to continue staying at the hospital.
Their Glomerular filtration rate is low, which is a high risk for cerebral haemorrhage. Meanwhile, the mother also suffers from some mental problems, which adds to the difficulties during treatment.
