An old woman in Ha Nam Province requires financial support for her daughter who is suffering from mental illness.

Nguyen Thi Nhan, 74, from Dong Roi Village said her husband died long ago, leaving behind a small daughter. Luckily, she was provided with VND30m (USD1,300) to build a small house near a pumping station.
Her daughter, Nguyen Thi Tuoi, is 46 years old but her mind has been stunted since she was small. She sometimes experiences seizures at night.
Nhan's daughter has mental illness
Nguyen Van Chien, head of Dong Roi Village said, "Nhan's husband died a long time ago so she raised Tuoi all by herself. Tuoi is being given VND270,000 as a monthly allowance for disabled people and Nhan is also provided with several hundred thousand VND each month. But Nhan often has to take Tuoi to hospital from time to time so the money isn’t really enough."
Nhan fears for her imminent death as she is getting older and weaker and the fate of her daughter.
"It wrecks me, seeing other peoples get married and have children and my daughter is still like a small kid like this," Nhan said. "What will happen if I die? Mercy is letting her die before I do so that I can take care of her funeral, then I'll follow her."
