PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc suggested the British Government accelerate the official signing and approval of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement to enjoy the benefits of the Agreement and contribute to the relations between Vietnam and the EU and the UK.

He lauded the development in the two nations’ Strategic Partnership, but noted that the trade turnover that reached US$5.4 billion in 2015 is not matching with the teo countries' potential and expectation.
He expected that the British enterprises will pour more investment in Vietnam in their advantageous areas such as finance, banking, infrastructure, insurance, science and technology.
PM Phuc proposed the British Government continue training high-quality human resources and teach English in Viet Nam and make it easier for Vietnamese students to study and work in the UK.
Vietnam expects to closely cooperate with the British Government in all fields for the sake of both and for the international and regional peace and prosperity, he affirmed.
The host hailed the Declaration from the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Hiroshima related to the East Sea issue for the joint goal of ensuring maritime and aeronautical freedom, preventing activities causing tensions in the region and against international regulations.
He suggested the British Government encourage the EU to raise their voice and ask relevant sides on the East Sea to respect international regulations, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982, address disputes with peaceful measures, prevent the use of forces or threat to use forces, end activities to change the status quo in the East Sea as well as strictly and fully implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and work toward the construction of the future Code of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (COC).
The UK is the second largest EU investor in Vietnam, said the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, adding that the signing of the EVFTA will facilitate and strengthen the relations between Vietnam and the UK in the future.
He suggested the two sides coordinate to cope with challenges during the economic development process such as anti-corruption and public administrative management, adding that the UK is willing to cooperate with Vietnam in response to climate change and the trafficking of rare animals.
The British Government will finance GBP 500 million for British enterprises to invest in Vietnam, he revealed.
