The outline for the Kien Trung Palace after being renovated
Government Decision 441/TTg-KGVX dated March 17 allowed the preservation, renovation and promotion tourism at the UNESCO World's Heritage site for the 2016-2020 period, the centre said.
Director of the Hue Historical Conservation Centre, Phan Thanh Hai, said that there would be total 27 projects with total investment of VND1.274 trillion (USD49.03 million) which will be sourced from the government's budget, the city's budget and foreign fund.
Most of the renovation work will be carried out at the Imperial Citadel and main palaces including Can Chanh Palace, Kien Trung Palace, Co Ha Garden, and Tinh Tam Lake.
Built in 1805 during the reign of Nguyen Dynasty’s King Gia Long, the Hue Imperial Citadel was seriously damaged during the decades of wars against the French and Americans.
