The Department of Overseas Labour reported on March 1 that four Vietnamese had been expelled from Japan for illegally working in the country.

Japan expels illegal workers
Four of them are Tran Van Anh, Pham Anh Tuan, Ban Phuc An visited Japan on December 1, 2014 and Vu Ba Ban who entered on April 15.
All four were caught at a factory in Aizu Bange City in January 27. According to the city police, they had worked illegally in Japan since July 2015. Sendai Regional Immigration Bureau discovered and expelled them. Three people applied for refugee status but were rejected.
Ban Phuc An was in technical intern training programme but he violated the contract to find work illegally.
Representative of Vietnam Department of Overseas Labour, under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, said the increasing number of illegal workers in Japan was affecting other guest workers and co-operative programmes between two countries.
In 2014, Japanese government approved to expand from 68 to 71 career fields to receive guest apprentices. In 2015, over 27,000 Vietnamese workers were sent to Japan, an increase of 136.6 percent on previous year.
Japan is considered a major market in 2016 due to the rising acceptance of Vietnamese workers and higher salaries.
