Deputy Head of the Central Commission for Internal Affairs, Phan Dinh Trac, has just been appointed to lead the Commission for the 2016-2020 term.

The appointment was announced this morning, February 29, by Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee.
Trac, 58, from the central province of Nghe An, was former director of Nghe An Police, former chairman of the Nghe An Province People's Committee, Secretary of Nghe An Party Committee before coming to Hanoi to take the position as Deputy Head of the Central Commission for Internal Affairs in January 2013.
Trac was appointed to replace the former commission head, Nguyen Ba Thanh, who died last February.
“Phan Dinh Trac is a capable and experienced leader," Huynh said in a ceremony announcing the appointment this morning. "I hope that he will continue to use his knowledge and experience to contribute more to the commission's activities. It will be a difficult new task but I believe that he can do it well."
Addressing the ceremony, Trac promised to try his best to fulfil his tasks, especially in the fight against corruption, to meet the expectations of the party and people.
