A mother from Thai Nguyen Province is calling for support to save her five-year-old son from brain cancer.

Due to his severe condition, Duong Thanh Trung was transferred to Hanoi's Viet-Germany Hospital. He has undergone four operations and will have another one because of his worsening condition.
Dr. Quang Dung said, "When he was admitted, his tumour was at grade 2 but now it's grade 4, the fastest growing and likely to spread. He needs another operation before switching to chemotherapy. He will need expensive antibiotics but his parents might not be able to afford the treatment. They are from the San Chi ethnic group and struggling to afford daily meals while in hospital."

Tran Thi Bien, Trung's mother, sold six rice fields for VND60m (USD2,800) but they still had to borrow money.
"We sold whatever we could and borrowed from everyone. I can't think right now, I just want my boy to live," Bien said.
