A three-year-old boy from the Muong ethnic group in Hoa Binh Province is in critical condition and his cousin died at the scene after being crushed by collapsed brick wall.
Bui Duy Cuong severely injured in hospital
Bui Duy Cuong has been transferred to Hanoi's Viet-Germany Hospital. Dr. Pham Hoang Anh said, "He has an epidural haemorrhage and a broken vertebra. He will need long-term treatment. If the brain injury is serious, he will need operation too."
Bui Thi Thoa, Cuong's mother, said the accident happened when all adults were working on the fields. Cuong was playing with his cousin near the kitchen when the wall suddenly collapsed and killed his eight-year-old cousin immediately. Thoa said the wall was just built last year.

Thoa said they was able to borrow a few million VND. "My husband is borrowing more money but the families in my village are also poor so they can't help much," she said.
