A woman from Bac Kan Province is struggling with severe injuries and the death of her husband after a traffic accident.

Phan Thi Thu and her husband were going home on January 10 when they were affected by a nearby driver attempting to do a wheelie. They veered off the road and were run over by a truck.
Thu's husband died immediately and Thu was brought to Bac Kan General Hospital. Due to her severe condition, Thu was transferred to Viet-Germany Hospital in Hanoi.
According to the doctor, Thu is still bed-bound and facing necrotic leg wounds. "We have to be careful and monitor her throughout this long-term treatment," said Doctor Le Manh Son.
Thu struggles with pain
Thu's mother abandoned her and her father remarried. Her grandparents died so her aunt is taking care of her.
Both Thu and her husband are farmers and their incomes cannot cover the hospital charges. Her family had to borrow money from everywhere to keep her in hospital.
"I still dream of him. He said he did not want to leave us," Thu said. "I also want to go with him but I have my daughter."
