Vietnamese singer Dong Nhi has just won Vietnam artist of the year at the MAMA awards at Asian Music Awards 2015 which are taking place in Hong Kong.
Nhi is the fourth Vietnamese singer to win a prize at the awards, following My Tam in 2012, Thu Minh in 2013 and Ho Quynh Huong in 2014. She is also the youngest Vietnamese singer to win this award.
“I am very surprised and happy to receive the award. I want to share the prize with my relatives, friends and fans who have always supported me. I will try my best to prove worthy of this prize”, said Nhi in a clip shown at MAMA.
Dong Nhi plans to release her music video Boom Boom this month following her successful Bad Boy.
MAMA is an annual regional music industry event to honour Asian musicians since its inception in 1999.
Along with moving venues, the awards for outstanding artists has expanded to include artists from beyond South Korea.
