Heavy overnight rain has left many streets in Hanoi seriously flooded, causing traffic jams in the morning rush hour September 22.
Streets such as Minh Khai and Dinh Cong were covered by nearly one metre of water.
Houses were inundated on Tan Mai Street, flooding them with sewage.
Roads near Chuong Duong Bridge in Long Bien District were jammed with traffic.
Hanoi Sewerage and Drainage Co. brought in high-capacity pumps to deal with the inundation.
The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said heavy rain was expected in the northern delta region, including Hanoi, over the next several days.
