Fuel prices increased for the first time in two months

Under the new adjustment, A92 petrol has been increased by VND620 per litre, to VND17,330. Diesel is sold for VND13,300, up by VND570 and kerosene price is VND12,270, a VND510 increase. Mazut prices now stand at VND9,340.

This is this year's twelfth adjustment and the first hike after a series of decreases during the last two months. By September 18, fuel prices increased four times to a total of VND5,040 per litre and decreased seven times to a total of VND5,590. On September 3, fuel prices decreased by VND1,200 per litre.

Instability in world fuel prices have meant constant fiddling by Vietnamese authorities has they have tracked the most minor increases and falls. World prices for RON92 increased from USD58.30 to USD61.33. Diesel prices also increased from USD56.41 to USD59.8.
