Sparkling firework displays were organised on September 2 in some the country’s largest cities to mark the 70th National Day.
The 15-minute firework displays started at 9pm in several places in Hanoi, Danang and HCM City, attracting thousands of viewers.
In Hanoi, people ignored the rain to enjoy fireworks displays at Hoan Kiem Lake, My Dinh Stadium, Van Quan Lake, Thong Nhat Park and Nguyen Hoang Ton flower garden.
Crowds had to face traffic jams for more than an hour at My Dinh Stadium.
In HCM City, tens of thousands of people flocked to Nguyen Hue Road and Saigon River to watch the fireworks.
In Danang City, people rushed to the streets of Le Duan, Tran Phu, Bach Dang, Tran Hung Dao and the Han River area.
Hanoi hosted a massive parade with the participation of around 30,000 people.
