The Vocational Training General Department under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs said they will compete in 13 skills: welding, IT software solutions, cabinetmaking, plumbing and heating, mechatronics, web design, automobile technology, CNC, industrial control, prototype modelling, plastic die engineering, mechanical engineering design – CAD and bricklaying.
The competition is held biennially in odd years. This year, the competitors will take part in 50 skills (46 official and 4 performance skills).
Vietnam has participated in five worldskills competitions, but has not bagged any medal.
It had one medallion for Excellence at the first competition and five medallions at the 40th and 41st competitions, each and 7 medallions at the 42nd event.
It set a target for winning medals at this year’s competition.
