A mother in Hanoi’s outlying district of Dan Phuong is in desperate need of help for her two daughters, who have cerebral palsy, are in paid and are entirely dependent on others for their care.

Tran Thi Xuan said Tran Thi Son and Tran Thi Thanh were found to have the debilitating illness months after they were born, when their limbs became weak and they could no longer move normally. They are bedridden and rely on their parents for everything.
Xuan said that she took her daughters to many hospitals in Hanoi, including the Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics and Saint Paul Hospital, but treatments have proved ineffective. Drugs help ease their pain, but she cannot afford them.
"Despite facing diseases, they are still my children. I have to take care of them in any circumstances," she said.
Xuan and her husband work at a local brick kiln, leaving the children in the care of her 90-year-old grandmother, but they have little money and are helpless easing the children's pain.
