Ninety delegates from 10 ASEAN countries, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Mongolia are attending the workshop led by the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).
In a keynote address, the Commander of the Commando, Major General Do Thanh Binh, affirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy and commitment to aggressively implement anti-terrorism policies.
Vietnam has made hard efforts to promote counter-terrorism cooperation with other countries and international organizations, especially the United Nations, on the basis of compliance with the UN Charter and fundamental principles of international law, Binh said.
Later that same day, those in attendance exchanged experience and discussed measures to enhance cooperation in handling non-traditional security threats, contributing to maintaining peace, stability and common development in the region and the world.
The event provides a good chance for delegates to share real life lessons and find appropriate solutions for common challenges for development and prosperity in the region and the world, Binh concluded.
