In response, Doan expressed her belief that under the reign of the Thai King, Thailand will achieve great progress and consolidate its international stature.

She praised the assistance provided by the Thai royal family in general and the Princess in particular, as a UNESCO Ambassador, to Vietnamese education, particularly in upgrading primary schools in Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh and Quang Ninh provinces.

She also welcomed the practical support given by the Princess to scientific collaboration between the two countries, including a research project on planting the Vetiver grass to prevent soil erosion and beautify landscapes.

The Vice President and the Princess expressed their pleasure over progress made by the two nations since raising their bilateral ties to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership in June 2013.

They agreed to streng-then bilateral co-operation and jointly celebrate the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Thailand diplomatic ties in 2016.

During her stay in Viet Nam, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn met with top officials in Da Nang City and HCM City, inaugurated a Thai study centre in HCM City, and visited the Ninh My Primary School in the Red River Delta province of Ninh Binh.
