Vietnam’s tennis star Ly Hoang Nam is just one step away from the boys’ singles title at the 2015 Asian Closed Junior Championships (Grade B1) after rolling past Japanese Yosuke Watanuki 2-0 on Friday morning to secure a berth in the April 18 final.

Ly Hoang Nam is on the verge of claiming double titles at the 2015 Asian Closed Junior Championships.
Top seed Hoang Nam, ranked 32nd in the ITF Junior rankings, started the game confidently and easily claimed the first set 6-2 against third seeded Watanuki, who is 24 places behind Nam in the world junior standings.
Watanuki pushed in to equalise in the second set only to see his efforts extinguished by Nam’s stamina and strong smashes before conceding another match 2-6 to the Vietnamese player.
Nam’s final opponent will be the winner of the clash between Yusuke Takahashi and Renta Tokuda, both from Japan.
Nam is on the verge of claiming double titles at this year’s event as he, joined by Filipino Alberto Lim, will play the boys’ doubles final today against another Japanese duo, Sora Fukuda and Renta Tokuda.
