DTiNews readers have donated VND212m (USD10,000) to an 11-year-old girl in Binh Dinh Province suffering a serious skin disease.
Doan Thi Hoa is the third daughter of a poor couple -- Doan Van Hai and Tran Thi Vien. Their first child was born without a nose, and her skin was scaly. She died at three months old.

Two years later, they had the second daughter, Doan Thi Anh, who is in good health. The couple decided to have the third baby four years later. But Hoa had the same skin disease as her deceased elder sister.
Hoa is in constant pain. Due to her unusual appearance, she is discriminated against by children and neighbours and rarely ventures outside.
After an article about the girl’s condition published on Dantri/DTiNews, her family received financial help from donors.
Hoa was taken to a hospital in HCM City for treatment, but doctors said there was no cure for her disease and she will require lifelong medication. On March 27, a DTiNews reporter in Binh Dinh Province gave the family VND212m raised from readers.
