Peach growers struggling to sell blossoms for Tet
Even though Tet is only days away, many peach tree growers in Nhat Tan have been unable to make money because a warm spell last month sent them into blossom too early and prices have plummeted.
“While peach trees are widely blossoming, there are only a few buyers. We have only sold half our crop," said one grower, named Huu.

Early blossoms cause slow sales
Several growers in Nhat Tan are chopping down their trees because they won't be able to maintain them for another year.
“I’m willing to sell peach trees at low prices but just a few people ask to buy. I am compelled to take flowers home and throw them in the field,” one farmer said.

Slow peach sales mean unhappy Tet
Another farmer said, "We still have many peach trees in the field. We may not have Tet this year. Now, I have no heart for the festival."
