Hanoi's streets are aflutter with red flags and bedecked with decorations in the run-up to the 85th anniversary of the foundation of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Hanoi's streets are aflutter with red flags and bedecked with decorations in the run-up to the 85th anniversary of the foundation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) today (February 3).

National flags and the Party flag mingle with peach blossoms set out to mark the upcoming Tet holiday on Hanoi streets, and government buildings and public spaces are sporting decorations to mark the foundation of the Party in 1930, with events such as a photographic exhibition and the showcasing of houses associated with the foundation on show to the public.
