Doan Ba Duc, 30, was extradited from Hanoi to HCM City in Hanoi. Duc after he told passengers on a flight preparing to take off that there was a bomb on board. The captain returned to the terminal at Noi Bai International Airport and passengers were moved to an isolated area while officials examined the aircraft. No bomb as found.

The flight was delayed for two hours.

Vietnam Airports has stepped up checks of all passengers in response to the incident.

The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) has banned Duc from flying from January 15, 2015, to January, 15, 2016. He has been posted on a no-fly list for all airlines operating in Vietnam.
