Traffic accidents claim 81 lives in first three days of January

160 traffic accidents, mainly road crashes were reported across the country on the first three days of the New Year claiming the lives of 81 people and injuring 97 others.

According to the National Committee for Traffic Safety (NCTS), on January 3 alone, as many as 34 people were killed and 38 others injured in 61 traffic accidents, mainly road crashes nationwide.

Traffic police handled 4,726 traffic law violations, collecting a total of VND1.967 billion in fines and seizing 14 cars and 1,244 motorbikes.
