The handover of new house
DtiNews reported that Phan Hoang Sang, who is in grade seven, spent his free time sifting through garbage to find recyclable items to sell so he could support his old and ailing grandparents.

The little boy struggling to support his grandparents
Sang lived in a dilapidated house with his grandparents in Hamlet 8 of Phuoc Long Commune. When he was four years old, his parents divorced and he lived with his father, who later moved to work in Binh Phuoc Province and got married, leaving him with his grandparents.
His grandfather Phan Van Thuong is 87 years old and is paralysed, while his grandmother Phan Thi Nu is 83 years old and in poor health.

Their old house
DtiNews readers opened their hearts for Sang, and gave more than VND100 million to help him and his grandparents. They now have a new house of some 41 square metres and the boy can concentrate on his studies without having to worry about making enough money to care for his grandparents.
“We send our great thanks to DtiNews and its kind readers who donated money to help build such a new house for us," Sang's grandmother said. "We are greatly happy that our grandson has a better chance to continue his studies."
The handover ceremony was attended by the chairman of the provincial Red Cross Society, Huynh Can Cong, local authorities and local residents.
