Seized fake shoes in famous brands
The Dong Nai police department's economic crime investigation division, working with police in Bien Hoa City, raided Manh Tuan Enterprises, in the city's Tan Hiep Ward, and caught them making recreational shoes stamped with unlicensed foreign brands.
The raid followed the arrest of a Manh Tuan worker, who was transporting three bags of shoe soles but did not have necessary documents to prove their origin.
Manh Tuan is owned by Nguyen Thanh Dam.
Dam said he bought shoe parts from a variety of sources, but claimed he had no control over their activities. His finished shoes, labelled as Nike, Adidas and Puma, were sold in Dong Nai Province, HCM City and in Vietnam's southwestern region.
Police seized some 3,000 pairs of shoes, and documents. Investigations are continuing.
