The house was built in Chau Hung, Vinh Loi District for Tran My Ngoc and her children, whose story was covered earlier by DTiNews.

New house for poor family
The event drew the participation of Chairman of the District Red Cross Society Tao Thanh Dien and Vice Chairwoman Duong Thi Gam, Ho Thanh Nghi, deputy director of the district office of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, and Thai Van Trieu, vice chairman of the town’s People’s Committee.
Ngoc and her two children lived in a dilapidated house in the town, as her husband left over a year ago. She struggles to earn a living and suffers from rhinitis and back pain. Many days they are forced to split one pack of instant noodles three ways because they can afford nothing more.
After DTiNews’ story, many kind readers from around the country and even overseas donated money to help the family.

Granting ceremony
Over the past month, her family has received many donations in cash and food. A part of the money was used to build the house and the rest was saved for her children’s educations.
The house is 40 square metres and was built at a cost of VND70 million. Construction was finished on November 14.

House built with kind-hearted people’s donations
“We’re very happy to have been given a house. It’s really hard to believe that our dream has come true for over the past month. We would like to send our gratitude to the donors," Ngoc said.
