DTiNews readers have donated VND150 million (USD7,140) to a singler mother in Bac Giang Province who is desperate to get treatment for a large tumour growing on her face.

Nguyen Thi Tuyet and her 12-year-old daughter are now living in Dong Ben Village, Tan Yen District.
Tuyet was promised a new life in China, but was unwittingly sold into a human trafficking ring and ended up the property of a man there. Her "husband" treated her badly, so in 2005, Tuyet and her daughter, two at the time, fled. Tuyet was three-months pregnant at the time. Due to constant sickness and poverty, Tuyet was forced to give up her second child after returning home.
At the beginning of her illness she only showed symptoms of sinusitis, but she could not afford to treat it. The condition got worse, and eventually her daughter had to quit school to take care of her. The local Red Cross of Tan Yen District and Que Nham Commune secured VND20 million (USD952) for Tuyet's surgery in 2012. After the surgery, a tumour appeared and grew until it took up most of her face.
The Red Cross of Tan Yen District continued support for her treatment in Hanoi, but the tumour continued spread and has now caused major damage to her bone structure, reduced her eyesight and tooth loss.
After the article about the ailing woman was published on DTiNews, many readers have sent donations to her. A number of people even directly came to the hospital to donate blood.
