The Young Art Festival 2014, which was opened on August 20 in Hanoi, has attracted the participation of many talented artists.

The Young Art Festival 2014, which was opened on August 20 in Hanoi, has attracted the participation of many talented artists.

The festival is held by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition at the Vietnam University of Fine Arts. Young Art Festival is held every three years and attracts many artists between the ages 18 of 35.

The categories honoured at the festival include painting, photography, video, installation, sculpture, animation. This year, out of 762 submissions, the organisers selected 112 works for exhibition.

Vuong Duy Bien, deputy head of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, "The works are varied in theme but they are all closely connect with contemporary life. Many types of materials have been used. The new generation is growing strong and responsible with their life of the arts. They are making breakthroughs for Vietnamese contemporary art."
