Vietnam has established a new fleet under the Regional Coast Guard 3, which includes a new vessel that is considered the most modern of its kind in Southeast Asia.
Flotilla 302 was launched on the afternoon of August 7 at Van Phong Port, in Khanh Hoa Province, and the new vessel is called the CSB 8001. It is 90 metres long and equipped with a heliport and modern equipment for patrols and the protection of Vietnamese territorial waters.

The vessel was built in Vietnam by the Ministry of National Defense using the technology of the Dutch Damen Group. It is capable of sailing in rough seas and will also be useful in rescue missions, as it can house up to 120 people and is capable of towing ships weighing as much as 2,200 tonnes.
Major Le Tien Chau, captain of the flotilla, promised to quickly organise operations and be ready to fulfill future missions.
