The incident occurred around 5pm on alley 1419 in Phuoc Kieng Commune, Nha Be District.

Reports from locals seem to indicate that the collapse was due to heavy rains. The section of damaged road is about ten metres in length and two metres wide and was swept into the Long Kieng River. Fortunately, nobody was hurt during the incident.

However, members of those seven households have since been unable to leave their homes. One house, belonging to Vo Van Duc, at 261A, is very close to the edge, fostering worries that any further erosion could cause serious damage to property and life.
