Authorities in Dong Nai Province prosecuted hundreds from in anti-China protest in order to restore public order.

On May 25, the People's Procuracy of Dong Nai Province announced that police in various cities and localities including Bien Hoa, Nhon Trach and Trang Bom have brought 23 cases to court resulting from protests. 243 people in Dong Nai Province were prosecuted for taking advantage of legitimate protests to cause violence, destroy and steal property. They also fined 173 people for causing disorder during the labourers' protest on May 13 and 14.
A representative of the Dong Nai People's Procuracy said they were in the process completing procedures. Those accused have plead guilty and shown remorse for their actions. All the factories affected have now returned to normal operations.
According to the police, many of the offenders were unemployed. They incited labourers in several industrial zones, such as Bien Hoa 2 and Amata to protest. They then attacked the factories, looting and causing fires.
