PM Dung praises WHO assistance for Vietnam

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has greatly valued the World Health Organization (WHO)’s effective cooperation and assistance for Vietnam over the past years.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has greatly valued the World Health Organization (WHO)’s effective cooperation and assistance for Vietnam over the past years.
At a March 11 reception for the visiting Director of the WHO for the West Pacific region, Shin Young-soo,  Dung said that Vietnam has paid special attention to people’s healthcare as part of its efforts to implement the millennium development goals (MDGs).

The Government leader voiced his hope for continued assistance from the WHO in policy counseling, management, and personnel training.

Shin Young-soo spoke highly of what Vietnam has achieved in healthcare and the country’s efforts to increase the people’s life expectancy, adding that his organization will support Vietnam in caring for the people’s health and achieving healthcare development targets.

Topics for discussion were also focused on improving the quality of medical check-ups and treatment, communication on epidemic prevention, and different forms of health insurance.
