A five-month old boy from the northern province of Hai Duong was born with deformities in his upper jaw and sex genitals, but his parents cannot afford treatment.

Due to the jaw problem, he is unable to breast feed, but has to use powdered milk, and even this is very difficult for him.
The boy, Truong Lam Phong, was born when his mother was in the eight month of pregnancy by caesarean. He was very weak after birth and had to be taken care of at hospital for a long time.
His parents were shocked when told by doctors that he suffered from a jaw deformity which needed surgery, however, Phong was too weak for at the moment.

Since after being taken from hospital, Phong cried constantly from hunger but was unable to eat regularly. Finally the mother had to force him to take powdered milk, a very unpleasant experience for him.
The farther, Truong Van Thinh, has an occupational disease which has seriously affected his health. He said his son will have to undergo at least two surgeries which the family cannot afford.
Doctors said the boy must weigh at least 8kg for the surgery. He now weighs only 5kg.
