Many people in Hanoi have recently got into the trend of buying alligator meat despite the expensive prices.
Slaughtering process
A vendor named Dung, from northern province of Hai Duong, along with his wife, sell alligator meat at a wholesale market at the end of Chien Thang Road in Thanh Xuan District.
They sometimes sell as much as 30-kilos alligator within 15 minutes. The alligator is killed in the presence of customers and passers-by.
Many people do not hesitate to pay large sums of money, not just for the meat, but also for other products, especially the skin.
One customer said, “This is dish that is new in this country, and I wanted to buy one kilo so my family could try it.”
Many are given other products from the crocodile as a bit of a bonus.
