The National Green Growth Strategy for the 2011-2020 period with a vision to 2050, which has been approved by the Vietnamese Government, is an important foundation for the country to gradually shift the structure of its economy, while promoting environmental protection, including ensuring water security.
According to the GGGI’s representatives, the institute proposes a project to research the relationship between water resources and green growth in the region.
They said that the GGGI hopes to work with Vietnam in the project because the country is one of the countries in the region that is more interested in the field.
Deputy Minister Lai said the research should be concretised, thus bringing out suitable policies for green economic development and water resources management in Vietnam .
He stressed that the ministry is willing to cooperate with the institute to implement the project and realise the policies.
