Cai Loi, vice chairman of Phu Loc District People's Committee and authorities of Loc An Commune presented VND45,770,000 (USD2,100) to the couple: Tran Huu So and Le Thi Con.
Living alone in one of the poorest village in Thua Thien-Hue Province, 96-year-old Tran Huu So and 91-year-old Le Thi Con have had to depend on neighbours for food, and to make things worse, Con has a pelvic fracture from a fall.
