For his part, Deputy PM Nhan said both sides need to develop cooperation relations based on three pillars: Vietnam and China exchange issues frankly and sincerely as they are both close neighbours; They have a similar political regime; and as they are members of the United Nations, so the behaviour of each side should respect international laws and practices.
He said Vietnam and China should boost future economic cooperation, especially for key projects identified in their joint five-year plan, including those on rail and road links and energy.
Efforts are needed to speed up two important projects: the Vietnam-China cultural palace in Hanoi; and the China cultural centre in Vietnam and the Vietnam cultural centre in China.
These specific projects will help cement the comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership between the two parties, states and peoples, Nhan told Li.
Both host and guest were satisfied at the broader cooperation between Vietnam and China in all areas, from politics to economics, trade, science-technology, education, and culture.
Nhan conveyed PM Nguyen Tan Dung’s invitation to Premier Li to visit Vietnam at an appropriate time.
Li accepted the invitation with pleasure and said the visit will be arranged through diplomatic channels.
