Sunsoft has been fined many times for illegal business practices previously but they continued to expand their operations to several big cities in the central and southern regions.

They provided well-known web-browser games to Vietnamese players such as PAL Online, Vegas Online and made annual profits up to tens of billion of VND.

The three company leaders will be prosecuted are Le Thanh Minh, Ngo Minh Thang and Nguyen Quang Hung.

During the investigation, the police also searched other headquarters that are placed in Hue and HCM City and confiscated computers as well as some contracts with foreign partners.

Infogames reported that there are about 200 unlicensed games online that are being played in the market.

Of these 200 illegal games, there were also a number of games waiting to be licensed, however, due to the long waiting process, the companies decided to release them in advance.

This reveals shortcomings in the government policies in relation to the gaming market. The market has become important to the digital industry, providing jobs and generating huge revenues.
