The US Navy’s USS Chung Hoon destroyer from the Logistics Group Western Pacific docked at Tien Sa port in the central city of Danang on April 21 to begin a five-day friendship visit to Vietnam.
This visit is part of an exchange programme between Vietnamese and US naval forces. The USS Chung-Hoon visited Danang previously in July 2011.
During their stay in the city, the US naval officers and soldiers will cooperate with the Vietnamese High Navy Command at Military Zone 3 to conduct non-combat activities, such as search and rescue training, relief aid, medical treatment, and ship control and maintenance.
They will also take part in cultural and sport exchanges with Vietnamese sailors and the US Seventh Fleet and Orient Express will play at music and dance performances.
