Long holidays are expected to push up spending

The Ministry of Labour, Invalid and Social Affairs said state officers nationwide will have five days off ranging from April 27 through May 1.

But typically they will have to work Saturday May 4 to offset the Monday, meaning they actually lose one of these days.

The ministry said people will also have three days off on the occasion of Hung King’s anniversary on April 19. The holiday will range from April 19-21.

Several festivals and cultural and entertainment events will take place during these holidays.

Halong’s Tourism Week will host a Carnival festival on the occasion of the liberation day of the south on April 30.

Danang will also organise a fireworks festival on this occasion.

Authorities in Nghe An Province’s Cua Lo Township are speeding up preparation to launch its tourism season this year during this holiday. Cua Lo intends to welcome 2.1 million tourists and gain tourism revenues of nearly VND1.4 trillion (USD66.8 million) this year.
