Young people have flocked to pagodas during the first days of the lunar new year to pray for good luck for their families for the year.

Nguyen Thi Hoa, from Hanoi University of Industry said, "In previous years, I would often follow my mother to the pagoda to pray for good luck for my entire family and friends. This time, I woke up early to help my mother prepare some offerings."
According to Hoa, amid a busy and sometimes stressful life, she felt peaceful and happy to go to the pagoda during Tet to spend some time to wish for the best for people.

She bought a bracelet as an amulet for herself to mark the lunar new year.
Apart from young women, a lot of young men also prefer going to pagodas at Tet to pray for a successful year.

Tran Linh from Hanoi College of Technology said, "I faced a lot of unfortunate issues last year, so my mother told me to go to the pagoda this Tet to pray for a year of good luck and health."
In addition to wishes for good luck and health, several young people prayed for a better love life.
Hoang Hang from the Academy of Finance said, "I've yet to find a partner and sometimes I feel a bit lonely. I hope that I can find love in the new year and eventually get married. As I'm a final-year student, my parents are looking forward to such a major event."
