The APPF-21 discussed politics and security matters, economics and trade, and regional cooperation in Asia-Pacific as well as APPF’s future activities.
The forum adopted a resolution and elected Mexico as APPF’s President in the 2013-2014 tenure.
On the sidelines of the forum, Luu had a meeting with APPF-21 President Valentina Matvienko, who is also Chair wom a n of Russia’s Federation Council. Both agreed to enhance legislative cooperation and joint actions in international and regional forums, as well as to strive toward cooperation, peace and stability and expand trade in the Asia Pacific region.
At a reception held for the Vietnamese NA Vice Chairman, Chairman of the Duma of Vladivostok city, Vikor Gochakov, affirmed that Vietnam will always be a strategic partner to Russia .
The city authorities and business community believe in their cooperation with Vietnam’s cities and provinces, he said, emphasising his wish to learn from Vietnam’s experiences in tourism development.
For his part, Luu said he hoped cooperation between the two countries and localities, especially in chemical and light industries, metals, ship building, electricity, telecommunications, finance and tourism will increase as there is great potential for cooperation in these fields.
At a meeting with Vladivostok city Vice Mayor Roman Kamanov, Luu expressed his hope that the city authorities will study orientations for cooperation with Vietnam’s localities in small and medium sized enterprises and education, as well as facilitate the Vietnamese community in the city.
