HCM City holds international food festival

An international gastronomy festival featuring the cuisine of 25 countries and territories will take place next week in HCM City, said La Quoc Khanh, Deputy Director of the city's Culture, Sports and Tourism Department.

The festival, to be held at the city's Sept 23 Park, will host 80 stalls for 50 restaurants and hotels from countries including India, Japan, the United States, Russia, France and Brazil.

In addition to serving food at stalls, the festival will also feature a Christmas- Party themed competition between chefs from five-star hotels.

Another highlight of the programme isYan Can Cook, a performance by world-renowned chef Martin Yan.

The annual food festival is a chance for city dwellers and tourists to learn about cuisines from around the world and enjoy gastronomic specialities from different regions, says Khanh.

There will also be traditional costumes, music performances and sports activities.
