At around 6pm on November 19, the Centre of Marine Police Information was informed by the International Maritime Bureau in Kuala Lumpur that an oil tanker was hijacked.
The pirates had dropped all nine members onto a life raft in the middle of the sea.
After getting directives from the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense, the marine police pursued and eventually apprehended the ship on November 22.
The ship fit the description from witnesses, but its serial numbers and name were changed.
The police had arrested all 11 pirates and secured the ship.
Nine crew members were also saved by the fishermen in Ba Ria- Vung Tau Province.
