A photo exhibition on Spratly Island, held on October 21 in Hanoi, was organised with the aim to educate young people and foster a sense of nationalism around the Spratly islands and sea issues.

A view of the exhibition
The event, which was jointly organised by the Vietnam Youth Museum and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, featured more than 80 photographs and documents regarding Spratly, gathered from various journeys over the past four years. More than 1,000 students were in attendance.
The organising board hoped that the occasion incite a sense of national responsibility and understanding for protecting Vietnam's sea and island sovereignty, and hopefully donate some of their time and effort to the cause.
The event included several other activities organised at the academy, including letter writing to soldiers in Spratly, film presentations on life on the island, and a music show.
The activities are part of a series annually developed by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Vietnam People's Navy to educate the people on the national sea and island sovereignty.
