The Prime Minister has approved a project on the implementation of the Hague Convention on the Protection of Children and Cooperation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption for the 2012-2015 period.
Under the project, the Ministry of Justice is assigned to build a database on child adoption in 2012.
Besides, the Ministry of Justice will coordinate with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Public Security and Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs to build a joint mechanism to monitor the situation of Vietnamese children adopted overseas and protect them when necessary.
Between 2013-2015, the Ministry of Justice will implement a pilot programme to organise home visits for Vietnamese children adopted overseas.
