The event, held at the commune’s People’s Committee headquarters, included many folk games as well as a free screening of the famous Japanese children’s cartoon “My Neighbour Totoro”, by Hayao Miyazaki.

The Club’s members also handed out over 400 books to disadvantaged children in the locality at the screening.

The activity was part of Share2Grow’s project titled “Rap Chieu Phim Dong Que” (Countryside’s Cinema).

Founded by a group of students from the international relations and journalism- communication faculties of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Share2Grow aims to provide information about charity activities across Vietnam to youths, as well as offer an overview for interested sponsors on local youths’ charity clubs and their activities.

The club will hold another screening at the same venue today, August 10.
