The Vietnam-Sweden Friendship Association (VSFA) held its 4th National Congress for the 2012-2017 term in Hanoi on June 22.
Delegates elected a new executive board consisting of 29 members, with Deputy Minister of Justice Hoang The Lien as Chairman.
They also discussed amendments to the VSFA regulations and orientations for the new term.
Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Vu Xuan Hong praised VSFA activities in the past five years and said he hopes it will continue seeking partners to promote cultural exchanges, economic and educational cooperation, and help reduce poverty.
It will also boost people to people diplomacy to enhance cooperative ties between Vietnam and Sweden, he added.
On the occasion, the VUFO Chairman presented certificates of merit, and “ For Peace and Friendship among Nations” insignias to VSFA leaders and members.
