The Hanoi Sewerage and Drainage Limited Company said the storm deposited 38 millimetres of rain in just two hours.
The storm left Nguyen Duc Canh, Minh Khai and Linh Nam streets under 0.1-0.15 metres of water, with the routes already highlighting their potential for floods at the height of the coming monsoon season.
The situation forced a large number of passers-by to travel through water to work.
